In a surprising turn of events, ABC has purchased the drama series Black Heart from Prospect Park, the company that is currently suing the network over All My Children and One Life to Live.

When the going gets rough, the tough get buying. At least, that's the case in the latest bit of news about ABC and Prospect Park. In a shocking turn of events, the alphabet network has purchased the drama series Black Heart from Prospect Park, the company that is currently in the middle of a court battle with the network over All My Children and One Life to Live.

Apparently, two networks were interested in the sprawling family drama from playwright/screenwriter Kelly Masterson and Prospect Park -- and ABC won the bid.

Deadline reports that Prospect Park's CEO, Jeff Kwatinetz, and his TV partner, Josh Barry, will executive produce alongside Masterson. The series tells the story of the unlikely ascension of the second son to the throne of a multi-billion-dollar family-owned company. The firstborn son, twisted and scarred by a fire decades ago, uses intrigue, manipulation, blackmail, and murder to put his beloved younger brother in power.

As fans may recall, Prospect Park is in the process of suing ABC over former soaps All My Children and One Life to Live. The production company has since filed bankruptcy and is currently bidding to have the suit moved to Chapter 7.
