Check out soap opera alums Matt Bomer (ex-Ben Reade, Guiding Light) and Tuc Watkins (ex-David Vickers, One Life to Live) in the teaser trailer for The Boys in the Band.

Netflix is getting ready to treat fans with a film version of the 1968 Mart Crowley play The Boys in the Band, and it's going to be can't-miss entertainment. The movie stars both Matt Bomer (ex-Ben Reade, Guiding Light) and Tuc Watkins (ex-David Vickers, One Life to Live).

As can be seen in the teaser trailer recently released by the streaming service, The Boys in the Band follows a group of nine gay friends who reunite in New York City to celebrate one of their birthdays. When the host's potentially closeted college roommate shows up uninvited, the evening is thrown into turmoil.

The cast is led by Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons and also includes Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Charlie Carver, Robe de Jesús, Brian Hutchinson, and Michael Benjamin. As Soap Central previously reported, Bomer and Watkins played their characters, Donald and Hank, in the 2018 Broadway run of the play. All of the other actors in the Netflix film previously starred in the 2018 version of the play, as well.

The film version of The Boys in the Band, which was produced by Ryan Murphy and directed by Joe Mantello, is set to debut on Wednesday, September 30. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think in the Comments section at the end of the article.

Bomer starred as Guiding Light's Ben from 2002 to 2003 before going on to find success on primetime series like Chuck, White Collar, The Sinner, and Will and Grace.

Watkins starred as OLTL's David on-again, off-again from 1994 to 2013. He's also known for shows like Desperate Housewives and Where the Bears Are.
